There are some handy procedures that you can put into place in order to alleviate the dangers of bad air quality in your home. In the long run this will help not only yourself but your children and partner.

What Causes Issues With The Quality Of Air

Woodstoves and fireplaces, when not used with care can cause issues with the air quality in your home.

Due to the hazardous by-products that are usually released into the air it may affect the quality completely. In the event that damp firewood is being burned this may release mold spores which will eventually create dampness in the air and is not good for breathing. House hold products for cleaning as well as paints and pesticides can be some of the causes behind poor air quality.

Lead paint is also a huge trouble in the home as it can cause great damage to the human brain.

What Can Be Done To Avoid This?

This may seem over simplistic but to simply remove your shoes when you enter your home, makes a huge difference. Wearing your shoes in the home will ensure to bring in chemicals, pollen, dirt and dust from outside that is not meant for the indoors. IT is even better if you have a porch as you may remove you shoes directly at the porch to ensure that dirt does not enter your home.

The smoke contained in cigarettes contain over four thousand harmful chemicals which include forty-three that are known to cause compound buildup within your home when you smoke. Not only does this damage the property but it also damages your health and affect the people that life with you.

I will not always encourage people to use carpets in their home due to the pollutants and toxins that are extracted from carpets but if you must absolutely get a carpet in your home ensure that it is of good quality and professionally cleaned on a regular basis (three times a year). Also ensure to clean sofas and other furniture. Always keep an eye on the humidity of your home to ensure that it does not accumulate mold and residue.  Monitor your ventilation system at all times to ensure that the air is not too cold but not too hot either. When it comes to purifiers and air fresheners try to get one that is good for the environment to remove all toxins from the air.
